The Red Hat OpenShift team is looking for a Principal Technical Marketing Manager focused on the security capabilities of our Kubernetes-based platform, Red Hat OpenShift.
In this role, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing an effective marketing strategy targeted at the technical buyer, enterprise architects, and platform administrator/operators. You'll work closely with product management, product marketing and solution architects in the field to support the sales cycle through a range of activities including thought leadership, demand generation, technical enablement, competitive analysis, and will work to influence product direction based on emerging trends.
Our success depends on your ability to deliver effective technical marketing content, including demos, hands-on labs, blogs and whitepapers, deployment scenarios, training and enablement materials, customer facing presentations, and solution-level content to be delivered by Red Hat and our partners.

What you will do:
- Develop and execute technical marketing plans for administrative and operational topics on Red Hat OpenShift
Develop product and solution demos, workshops and hands-on lab environments
Guide our technical thought leadership activities through blogging and social media, white papers, presentations, case studies, reference architectures and deployment scenarios
Work closely with the technical enablement organization to plan content that helps Red Hat, partner solution architects and professional services teams position our capabilities within the broader market context, support the sales cycle, succeed in competitive situations and deliver on successful RFI/RFPs and POCs
Track competitive trends and conduct win/loss analyses
Work with alliance and ecosystem partners to develop joint value propositions
Collaborate with other teams to create technical proof points specific to performance benchmarks and reference architectures
Represent Red Hat at customer and industry events
What you will bring:
- 10+ years of relevant systems administration, operations or similar experience, preferably within an organization that conducts software development activities
5+ years experience and a proven track record in a technical marketing role; additional experience in product management, sales engineering or solutions architecture role is a plus
Practical experience working with Linux containers and/or Kubernetes is a major plus
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or related field; advanced degree is a plus
Domain knowledge and experience with open source projects
Outstanding written, verbal communications and presentation skills
Experience hosting a podcast or video streaming is a plus
Comfortable working with and presenting to all levels of an organization
Experience working effectively in an influence-driven, cross-functional environment with remote peers
Ability to be meet deadlines and multitask in a highly complex environment
Proven experience with demand generation, social media and digital marketing
Willingness to travel 10-25%
